During this 45-60 minute video conference your class will connect with a volcanologist to explore the amazing "Ring of Fire", examine reasons for this phenomenon, and to gain an understanding of plate tectonics and how they have changed over vast periods in our history. An Earth scientist explains why the "great circle of fire" (volcanoes) exists and help student understanding as they predict earthquakes, volcanoes, and the expanding and shrinking of continents and oceans in this introduction to global plate tectonics.
